Full description

The Ford Model T is an automobile that was produced by Henry Ford's Ford Motor Company from October 1, 1908, to May 26, 1927. It is generally regarded as the first affordable automobile, the car that opened travel to the common middle-class American; some of this was because of Ford's efficient fabrication, including assembly line production instead of individual hand crafting. The Ford Model T was named the world's most influential car of the 20th century in an international poll.

Truly one of the most remarkable cars in Ford’s expansive history has to be the Model T Speedster. Produced in seemingly infinite numbers, the Speedster was one of the Henry’s personal favorites, as it was this design of a car in which he won an endurance race early on in the company’s history. Purchasing a speedster allowed the buyer to modify the vehicle in a number of ways, from engine performance to handling to body styles – at one time there were over 20 companies which would construct custom bodies for a Speedster.

The Speedster body wasn't just for looks; it made the Model T go faster by making it lighter, cutting down the frontal area, and streamlining it. Just making these changes could add 10 to 15 miles an hour to the top speed.

This Speedster is an earlier example, boasting the boxier radiator, larger fenders, and simple rear styling of just a fuel cell. The robust 4-cylinder engine easily moves the vehicle along, while the wood – steel body appears in remarkable condition. The red paint is complemented with red striping, and most every element seems in terrific condition, if not slightly aged. Inside, the interior can’t get much simpler – two brown seats, a circular windshield for the driver, and lots of wood.

Henry Ford's believed the Model T was all the car a person would, or could, ever need. As other companies offered comfort and styling advantages, at competitive prices, the Model T lost market share. On May 26, 1927, Ford Motor Company ceased US production and began the changeovers required to produce the Model A. Some of the other Model T factories in the world continued a short while.

At that time, Model Ts were not equipped with odometers.
