Introduced in 1977, the Vantage version of the Aston Martin V8 model was considered Britain’s first supercar thanks to its 270 Km/h top speed and 0-100 Km/h time of 5.3 seconds. It was produced in various forms between 1977 and 1989.

A tuned version of the 5.4L Lagonda engine was fitted into the new 1977 Vantage. Now breathing trough 4 double Webber carburetors, the engine now produced an estimated 380 hp. In the Rolls Royce fashion, Aston Martin never disclosed the actual figure.

The 1978 model was the fastest accelerating production car in the world with zero to 100 Km/h taking only 5.2 seconds.

With the 1986 model came in an optional upgraded engine with even more power, 432 hp.

Timothy Dalton’s debut as James Bond, 007 agent, saw him accompanied by the Aston Martin V8 Vantage,. Supplied to the producers personally by Aston Martin chairman Victor Gauntlett, the film features both Volante and Coupe versions of the car, customized with obligatory gadgets including outriggers and tire spikes and additional jet engine, lasers and bulletproof windows.

The collection’s Vantage was first registered in August 1982 and only had two owners. It is equipped with air conditioning, power steering and power windows.

The car has been repainted in 2012 and registers 58.906 miles (approx. 94,800 km) on board.
