Full description

Chrysler 70 was a name used by some of the "70" family models started by the Maxwell Motor Company in 1924, one year prior the birth of the Chrysler Corporation. The "70" model family started with the B-70 (also known as Chrysler Six after the six cylinder engine, 1924-1925) and the G-70 (1925-1927). The range evolved with the 1927 launch of the Chrysler "Finer" 70, then with a facelifted version named Chrysler 72 (1928), and continued with the Chrysler 75 (1929). The Chrysler 70 moniker made a return between 1930 and 1932, being sold next to a better equipped version named Chrysler 77.

When the 1931 line debuted, Chrysler was immediately recognized as a style leader among the industry giants. The new appearance would help carry Chrysler through The Great Depression. Even today, many still consider the 1931 models to be among the most beautiful Chryslers ever produced.

It was available in several two and four seater body styles including a Roadster, Business and Royale Coupe, Convertible Coupe, and Royale Sedan.

Standard equipment included Delco Remy ignition, wooden-spoke tires, hydraulic brakes, four-speed transmission, mechanical fuel pump, Stromberg downdraft carburretor and new “paraflex” springs. The chassis was 116 ½ inch long and it had a 19.5 gal. gas tank.

The customers could optionally add sidemounted spare tires, wire-spoke wheels or an outside rear view mirror.

Inside, the seats were covered in high-grade mohair. The instrument panel included all of the necessary gauges housed in an indirectly-lit, walnut-finished oval instrument panel pod. Roadsters were equipped with a locking compartment on the passenger side to hold golf clubs.
